Programs that change lives — and engines.
Three integrated programs train students, repair vehicles, and put hard-working families behind the wheel — together they form a self-sustaining, mission-driven engine for inclusion.
VR Auto Technician Training Program
Our virtual reality–based curriculum gives every student a safe, repeatable, hands-on environment to learn the trade — without the risk, expense, or accessibility barriers of a traditional shop floor.
What students learn
- Oil changes and routine maintenance
- Tires — mounting, balancing, rotation
- Brakes — diagnosis, pads, rotors, hydraulics
- Suspension and alignment fundamentals
- Detailing and paint preparation
- Auto detailing
- Power washing
- Tow truck operation and safety
Who this serves
Students are referred through the Department of Social Services, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and our network of partner churches. We prioritize:
- Young adults 18+
- Veterans seeking purpose and a second chapter
- At-risk youth from underserved communities
how it works
From headset to hood — in five steps
Referral & intake
A DSS caseworker, partner church, or family member refers a student. We meet them, assess interests, and build an individualized plan.
VR foundations
Every student starts in our VR lab. They master safety, tools, and core procedures at their own pace — with instant feedback, zero injury risk.
Mentor pairing
Each student is paired with a veteran mentor who guides them through real-shop sessions and life-skill conversations.
Live shop training
Students apply skills on real vehicles — performing community repairs and refurbishing donated cars under expert supervision.
Placement
Graduates are placed with partner shops throughout central Florida.
Affordable Repairs
Students perform real automotive repairs for community members at below-market rates. Customers get reliable service from supervised technicians; students get real-world experience; the foundation generates revenue that funds free training for the next cohort.
Services we offer
- Oil changes and fluid checks
- Brake service and tire work
- Suspension repairs and alignment
- Detailing, and paint prep
- Diagnostic services
Vehicle Donation & Sales
Reliable transportation is a precondition for employment, stable housing, and family well-being. Our program puts working vehicles into the hands of families who need them most.
For donors
We accept donated vehicles from individuals, dealerships, fleets, and corporate partners. Donations are tax-deductible. We handle pickup, paperwork, and title transfer.
For families
Qualifying families purchase refurbished vehicles for $1,000 down plus an affordable payment plan through partnership banks. Every car has been repaired and inspected by our trainees and partner shops.
Eligibility
Who we serve
Young adults
Young adults from disadvantaged areas, looking for meaningful work and life skills.
Veterans
Veterans of any era — including those transitioning out of service — are welcome as students or as volunteer mentors. We honor your service with purpose.
